Facts from the official page

Sites
Asphalt pads with picnic tables. The page says "Thirty 50amp full hookup sites" but also "8 pull-through and 31 back-in", so the total is unclear. source

Water, sewer and electric (20/30/50 A) at each site. Limited Wi-Fi, only outside the RV Service Center (bathhouse and laundry). source
Rates
$45/night; $1,050 for 30 days. No refunds on camping fees. Stays may not exceed 60 consecutive days. source
Season
Camping is available year-round. Tent camping is not permitted in the RV park. source
Reservations
Call Outdoor Recreation, 804-633-8244. Reservations are "highly recommended", but the page also says sites are first-come, first-served. source
Eligibility (as listed)
Active duty and family members, activated Reservists and Army National Guard, retirees, DoD civilians, and full-time on-post DoD contractors. Under "Expanded Patronage", the page lists Purple Heart recipients, former POWs, all veterans with service-connected disabilities, and VA PCAFC primary family caregivers as eligible for recreational lodging. source
Cabins
Separate cabin and cottage rentals (Hilltop and Bullocks Pond cabins, Beaverdam Cottage) are listed on the recreational lodging page, from $110 to $400/night. source

Unverified, call ahead

  • Exact number of sites (the page gives two different figures).
  • Visitor-center requirements for non-ID-card holders at Fort A.P. Hill are not on the MWR page; call ahead.

We could not confirm these on an official page, so we leave them blank rather than guess. Call 804-633-8244.

If you don't have a DoD ID card

Under the 2020 expanded-access rule (32 CFR 225.4), veterans with a VA service-connected disability rating, Purple Heart recipients, former POWs and VA-designated primary family caregivers may use MWR recreational lodging and RV campgrounds. To get on a base, enroll at the installation's visitor center on your first visit, using a VHIC or REAL ID and passing an on-the-spot background check. At check-in, show a VHIC that lists your eligibility status, or a VA letter plus REAL ID. Guests can travel with you but must clear the visitor center themselves (DoD transition plan, Feb 2026).
